Violet backgound

The latest community newspaper for residents in Neath and Port Talbot features a double-page-spread outlining the approved plans for electric arc furnace-based steelmaking at Tata Steel.

The 8 page newspaper is not only available online, but also as paper copies that can picked up in local supermarkets and civic centres.

The news that the local council has given planning permission to the company's development makes the front page of the paper, entitled "EAF- it's a Yes!"

Inside there is more news about the £1.25billion programme of work, with the arc furnace expected to be commissioned late in 2027, including the appointment of some major contractor partners such as Sir Robert McAlpine and Skanska.

With the latest news on steel tariffs from Donald Trump's administration, politics is front and centre in the edition, with articles about the recently formed Steel Council, the visit of co-chair Jon Bolton, and the recent visit of Mims Davies, Shadow Secretary of State for Wales.

There are also articles that report on recent interactions with politicians and the government concerning the steel strategy, industrial strategy and concerns about energy costs.All of which are talked about in the company's latest "SteelCast" podcast
