Our ethical principles are clearly and unambiguously articulated in the Tata Code of Conduct, to which all Tata Group companies subscribe.
Originally written in 1998, the Code was updated in 2008 to better reflect changing expectations within society and the increasingly global scale of the Group’s activities.
The updated Tata Code of Conduct addresses current issues of concern for global business, with more guidance and direction on such issues as integrity, competition and excellence, as well as fraud, bribery, corruption and conflicts of interest.
All employees have a personal responsibility to uphold the high standards of corporate and personal behavior set out in the Tata Code, which extends to our contractors and vendors who must agree to respect its principles. Joint ventures controlled by the Tata Steel Group are also required to adopt a written code of conduct that is consistent with the Tata Code.
