Tata Steel is increasingly recycling its by-products (98%).

• Tata Steel also facilitates its customers in making their products more sustainable. For doing so, Tata Steel make extensive use of life cycle assessment (LCA) to advise its customers in the design of their products made from our steel
• The new technology HIsarna will include a higher proportion of steel scrap

Steel is already the ideal circular packaging solution

It is easily removed from the waste stream and can be recycled again and again. It preserves food, and in world where a third of food is thrown away, it helps to reduce waste.  

Thanks to steel, vehicles are leaving a smaller footprint in the world. Our stronger, thinner steel means vehicles can be lighter, so they use less fuel.  

During production, Tata Steel is recycling more of its by-products. Although the world still needs steelmakers to make virgin steel to keep up with demand, new technologies such as HIsarna will include a higher proportion of steel scrap.

Nobody can make the circular economy on their own. Steelmakers play a vital part in a complex, interdependent eco-system.
