Right weighting your machines for optimal performance, efficiency and sustainability
What’s your challenge? Today’s construction and handling equipment manufacturers are facing some exciting opportunities.
Whether you're making earthmoving and road building machinery, mining equipment, cranes or forklift trucks, you'll have an ongoing focus on:
- Making your machines and production processes more sustainable
- Improving the efficiency of your machines and production processes
- Optimising payloads – to help your customers beat the competition
- 'Right' weighting - high-strength steels combined with intelligent design offer significant opportunities to reduce weight in the right places in your vehicle.
Predictable high quality, reliable deliveries and support from technical experts
We work hard to understand your issues and challenges. We know that the choice and application of steel can has a big impact on fuel efficiency and manoeuvrability.
We offer predictable steel quality for efficient processing and all benefits of a local supplier who understands your needs, responds fast and delivers on time. It is vital that you start with the right ingredients:
- Availability of a wide range of steel products to use in your sustainable machinery, from a low emission footprint steel supplier
- For fast laser cutting and precise bending operations you want a highly consistent quality consisting of the right steel chemistry, surface appearance and tight dimensional tolerances
- For any production challenges our team understands your technical needs and processing requirements. We offer decades of experience and continue to use our wide knowledge base and expertise to develop products and services to meet those needs
- For continuous production, we offer reliable delivery and a pro-active customer service team to plan your next on time delivery
These ingredients give you the opportunity to optimise your operations, strengthen your customer base, expand your product range, target new and demanding end user applications – and grow your business.
Made to last
During construction, road building and mining activities your machines need to operate at a constant pace transporting the largest possible loads, getting the work done on time.
To optimise your machines, choosing wear resistant steel means your machines parts last longer and weight is reduced compared to using high strength steel material.
For wear parts and aftermarket spare parts our Valast wear resistant steel (Valast® 450) offers the lifetime wear protection needed for your machines. Valast is available up to 2000mm wide ensuring efficient nesting and laser cutting of your parts. The high surface quality of Valast helps to create the premium look and appearance of your vehicle in the showroom.
For parts that need shaping and heat treatment steps before getting their wear properties we offer a range of boron manganese products too.
Strong and resilient machines
For chassis and structural parts in construction, mining, and road building machinery choosing high-strength steels helps to right weight and uphold machine performance.
Right weighting means taking out weight and improving fuel efficiency where possible, without compromising on equipment performance. Our engineers provide advice on how to achieve this by choosing the needed steel material (grade, strength, thickness) in the right location, using the right adhesion or forming processes, for the optimal functionality.
Use our hot-rolled Ympress® (S355MC-S960MC) sheet products, our tubular hot formed Celsius® (355-460 MPa) or our tubular cold formed Hybox® TT (355-700 MPa), all with tight tolerances that go beyond the European standards (half the dimensional tolerances) to enable trouble-free, automated production.
Next to excellent laser cutting and welding properties, our Ympress (S355MC-S700MC) sheet products are available up to 2050mm width and 25mm gauge and with excellent performance under cold conditions, ensuring the toughest parts of your machines withhold the challenges, even under extreme conditions.
Reaching for great heights
For equipment designed for heavy lifting we offer our high strength Ympress (S500MC - S960MC), cold formed Hybox TT (355-700MH) and hot formed Celsius (355-460 NH) steels.
Using ultra high-strength steel allows cranes, scissor lifts, and telehandlers to achieve a spectacular reach and lift heavy payloads.
