Silesia Outlet is the latest shopping outlet in Poland, located in Gilwice and with over 100 stores featuring local and international brands and nearly 20,000M2 in size, the outlet centre is the largest in the Upper Silesia region. The shopping centre is distinguished by its uniquely designed facades and spacious interiors offering shoppers an immersive retail experience.

The challenge

The client wanted a contemporary and modern looking façade which mirrored the latest fashion brands the shopping outlet offered. As such aesthetics was a high priority when it came to the design of the building. Speed of construction was also a key consideration with short lead times and availability of material a critical consideration.

The solution

Following a CPD by Tata Steel to IMB Asymetria Architectural Design Studio they became convinced that Colorcoat Prisma® was the correct solution for the project with its revolutionary 3 layer coating technology.

The contemporary colour range backed by a 40 year Confidex® Guarantee and exceptional corrosion and UV performance made Colorcoat Prisma® the ideal choice for this retail outlet.

Following the CPD further meetings were held with the sub-contractors ME Krakow and they could see the benefits of Colorcoat Prisma® being specified on the building.

To support the requirement of short lead times the pre-finished steel was supplied by Colorsteels, Tata Steel’s UK service centre for Colorcoat® pre-finished steels.
