A: It has been tested to the highest European standards by independent certifiers. Tata Steel now only offers facade systems into multi story buildings that comprising of non combustible or at the very least limited combustible pre-finished steel products classified as A1 or A2-s1, d0 as defined by BS EN 13501-1:2018. This includes all the major components forming the system, including the rain screen support, fasteners and insulation elements.

Q: What guarantees are given?

A: Trisobuild^® Façade systems are available with a 25 year Platinum^® Plus guarantee backed by Tata Steel that, covers all the systems components, their performanceand durability. This guarantee is underpinned with a Confidex guarantee that further covers the durability of the external face for up to 40 years. The guarantee is directly between the building owner and Tata Steel and can be transferred to new owners at any time during the guarantee period.

Q: What types of buildings is it likely to be used for?

A: Trisobuild^® Façade Systems meets the regulations for use on multi storey residential buildings over 18 metres high which makes it suitable for low of medium rise buildings. Hospitals, schools, hotels, residential and modular buildings will be particularly suited to Trisobuild^® Facades.

A: Trisobuild provides an alternative to a flat faced facade, available in a wide range of profiles as well as colours that allows architects more scope to express a vision for a building. A bespoke profiles service is also available.

Q: Will non combustible products cost more?

A: Buildings protected by Tata Steel’s systems will be at the higher end of the market but as they will be highly durable with assured performance the long term cost of ownership will be attractive. The cost comparison against engineered flat rainscreen should be attractive.

Q: What about sustainability?

A: Tata Steel’s environmental standards cover all of Tata Steel’s products. Bespoke Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) calculations can be provided for projects. All steel products come with a ‘very good’ BES 6001 giving independent verification on the products traceability and responsible sourcing.

A: Extensive technical support is available from specification to project completion, including final checks during and post installation.
